- Names a person, place, thing, or idea.
- Example: dog, city, happiness
- Pronoun
- Replaces a noun to avoid repetition.
- Example: he, she, it, they
- Verb
- Expresses an action or state of being.
- Example: run, is, think
- Adjective
- Describes or modifies a noun or pronoun.
- Example: blue, tall, happy
- Adverb
- Modifies a verb, adjective, or other adverbs, often telling how, when, where, or to what extent.

- Preposition
- Shows the relationship between a noun (or pronoun) and other words in a sentence.
- Example: in, on, at, between
- Conjunction
- Connects words, phrases, or clauses.

- Expresses strong emotion or sudden feeling.
