Workshop “Modern Mosque Management” Held at Sabilillah Mosque, Malang City

Malang – As part of efforts to enhance mosque management capacity in the modern era, the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of Malang City held a workshop themed “Modern Mosque Management” on August 12, 2025, at Sabilillah Mosque, Malang City. The event began at 8:00 a.m. and lasted until 12:00 p.m., attended by around 30 mosque caretakers (ta’mir) from various areas of Malang City.

During the event, Mr. Taufix, representing Keramat Agung Mosque, participated in the sessions presented. The materials covered strategies for managing mosques professionally by utilizing technology and modern management practices. One of the key topics discussed was the importance of financial management transparency, the use of digital media for dakwah (Islamic outreach), and strengthening the mosque’s role as a center for community empowerment.

The Committee Chair, who also represented BAZNAS Malang City, expressed hope that this activity would equip mosque administrators with knowledge and skills relevant to today’s challenges. “A mosque today is not only a place of worship but also a center for social activities, education, and economic empowerment of the community. Therefore, good management is essential,” he said.

Participants appeared enthusiastic during the discussion and Q&A sessions, addressing various challenges faced by their respective mosques and sharing best practices already in place. The event concluded with a joint prayer, hoping that all participants would be able to apply the knowledge gained for the advancement of mosques in Malang City.
